My Little Snow Shoveler

There are so many things that you learn about your spouse after you become married to them that you didn't know while you were dating. One of those things that I learned several months into marriage is that Adam loves to shovel snow. Thank goodness! I have not had to do it once this winter and there has been lots of snow! It looks like I hopefully won't have to when we move to Utah either. Adam is full of wonderful secrets. I also found out that he loves to vacuum! I married a near perfect husband.

We are Movin' to Utah!

Looks like we are going to be making our way to South Salt Lake City, Utah in April after Adam and I graduate. Adam got a job offer to work for a landscaping company called Intermountain Plantings and he accepted it! So we have a job now and we are VERY anxious to get Adam's classes done. It's hard to finish school when you know you already have a very good job lined up. But we are trudging through! He got the position of managing the landscape of a very nice resort in Deer Valley by Park City called the Montage. It will be a great experience for him and he is so excited about this job which makes me excited! We have been looking for different apartments online in the Murry/Cottonwood/Holladay areas. So if you know of anything, let us know! There are a lot of places to choose from!

Great Inspiring Video

This is my new favorite video. Adam and I taught Sunday School last week on having courage in our faith and knowing that as long as we do what's right, we will be blessed. We showed this video to those in our class. I just love Elder Holland. It's a very inspiring video that makes me tear up.

Bountiful Basket

Adam had been excited about something all week and Monday he told me that he had a surprise that he couldn't tell me about until Saturday. Well, today Adam continued to be excited and he was out the door with a laundry basket at 9:55 am. I was so confused at what he was doing and what the big surprise was. I was laying on the couch working on this weeks Sunday School lesson that we were going to teach, and I see the front door slowly open and Adam brought in a basket full of fruit and vegetables! It was so exciting. We also just got a dehydrater machine, so for the next hour we worked on cutting up apples, pears, and bananas to dehyrate them. It was a fun morning.

All this for $15, and the grapes are beautiful and amazing!

Things in the basket:

Potatoes
Celery
Black Pumpkin thing (I don't know what it is..)
Lettuce
Pears
Bananas
Corn
Grapes
Persimmons
Apples
Clemintines
Brusle Sprouts

Flowers and More Flowers!

I came home from a hard and long day of school last night and on the table was this beautiful arrangement of star gazer lilies and orchids which happen to be the same type of flowers that we had at our wedding. Adam is always spoiling me with surprises and he knows just how to cheer me up when I'm having a hard time.

Bajio Sweet Pork Burritos

Meat

3 lbs Pork Roast
1 can Dr. Pepper
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup salsa
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground mustard
salt and pepper

Place pork in the crock pot. Then add all ingredients. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Shred pork with about an hour left to cook.

Sweet Rice

*1/2-1 tablespoon vegetable oil
*1/2 of a white onion, chopped (add more or less to your taste)
*1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
*1 1/3 cups white rice
*3 cups chicken broth
*1/4-1/2 cup white sugar

Put a little oil in bottom of pan (maybe about 1/2-1 tablespoon).
Saute chopped onion until translucent. Add the chopped cilantro (no big stems) and saute a minute more.
Add the rice, cooking until it is light brown (being careful not to burn).
Combine the chicken broth and sugar, letting sugar dissolve. Then stir into rice until combined. Bring to a boil.
Cover and let cook on low, med-low until rice is done, about 25-30 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Homemade Bread

My new thing is to make yummy homemade bread rather than buying store bought bread. I try to make two loaves every week because Adam and I go through it so fast. But it saves us a little money and it tastes a lot better than the store bought stuff. It does take a little time, but I actually really enjoy baking and the end result always makes it worth it. :) It's just something we can do to save our pennies.

They may not look the prettiest, but they taste amazing!
